About Septarian

Septarian is a naturally patterned sedimentary concretion rather than a single mineral. Its distinctive sections developed when fractures formed within hardened, carbonate-rich sediment and were later filled with minerals—most commonly Calcite. The yellow areas are often Calcite, while the brown and gray sections may include Aragonite, limestone, and clay-rich matrix.

The name “Dragon Egg” refers to the carved egg shape and the stone’s scale-like patterns. This piece also preserves a natural crystalline cavity, revealing part of its internal mineral formation.
